Refurbished Cricket Bat
As part of our Green and Prosperous range, and through our Pass the Bat On Campaign, we’re able to give cricket bats a second innings.
When we’re requesting players from elite clubs, counties and even professional players to return their used or broken cricket bats, you’re not just getting quality gear at a great price – you’re playing a small part in helping to protect our environment. Every refurbished bat means one less bat in the landfill and fewer trees cut down to make new ones. It’s a win-win for cricket and conservation!
It may only be a small part to play for now, but every little helps as we begin our journey towards more sustainability within cricket.
Green & Prosperous Cap Range
As part of our new Green & Prosperous range, we are now able to provide our caps using recycled and environmentally friendly materials. Our recycled velvet used for our honour and presentation caps; is made from yarns from post-consumer PET bottles.
Recycled velvet repurposes thousands of plastic bottles bound for our oceans or a life in landfill. Each metre of our recycled velvet reuses approximately 30 x 550m bottles, which also reduces our carbon emissions by up to 75%, in addition to this; our energy consumption and water usage in production are reduced by up to 70%. This enables us to adopt an environmentally conscious approach to our fabric usage – with no compromise on quality or appearance.
Our recycled velvet is highly breathable, super-soft microfiber knit and benefits from an easy-clean finish.
G&P’s recycled velvet is fully REACH compliant and is GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified.
Cap Composition:
Recycled Velvet (Face: 100% Recycled Polyester Pile – Backing: 70% Modacrylic, 25% Cotton, 5% Synthetic Fibre)
We use recycled polyester for our cap linings and use organic cotton for any embroidery requirements. Our recycled velvet honour or presentation caps can be made with organic silk tape, tassel, and cords.
